I’m taking on a Wellness Walk for a happier, healthier future for all.
Our world changed forever on July 3, 2024, when my son was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in the most dramatic way. He was in Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)—a life-threatening complication where the body, deprived of insulin, breaks down fat for fuel. This process floods the blood with acidic ketones, which can be fatal if untreated.
In those hours, we were on the edge of losing everything. By God’s grace, he survived.
Today, my son lives with Type 1 Diabetes. Every single meal must be carefully carb-counted, and insulin has to be delivered to match. Despite our best efforts, he still faces highs and lows—swings in blood sugar that carry long-term health risks.
No parent should have to watch their child fight this battle.
But there is hope. Groundbreaking research in smart insulin and stem-cell therapy is bringing us closer to a future where Type 1 Diabetes can be managed—or even cured—without the constant fear and burden.
This fundraiser is to support that research and the support the families with Diabetes get. Your generosity could bring us closer to a world where children like my son—and millions of others—can live free from the shadow of diabetes.
