Whether you can commit to a few hours or the whole day, we really value your support.
General Event Volunteer
Volunteers who are based at the event site can take on a variety of different roles and work in morning or afternoon shifts, including:
- Answering walkers’ questions and directing around the site.
- Handing out t-shirts and event packs at the registration tent.
- Cheering our walkers across the finish line and on the route.
- Handing out medals.
Route Marshal
Route volunteers guide walkers accurately and keep enthusiasm high. You must be aged 16+ to volunteer for this role (16 - 17 year olds must with be with a parent or guardian aged 18+), Volunteers in these roles will be positioned at key points on the walk route and will:
- Ensure walkers are heading in the right direction.
- Motivate and cheer people on as they walk past your position.
- Hand out hypo snacks, plasters or report medical incidents.
- Monitor and report back to the route manager.
