Wellness Walk Manchester 2025

I’m taking on a Wellness Walk on Sunday 19 October for a happier, healthier future for all.

As I've now reached the big 4-0, I’ve decided it’s time to take better care of myself. I’m no elite athlete - despite what my photo suggests - so I’ve signed up for an 8-mile walk, setting my sights on something which feels an achievable but enjoyable challenge rather than simply jumping onto my first triathlon (which for a start would require me to dust off the bike in the shed and, you know, actually pump up the tires, which I'm too lazy to do).

The kids are at a birthday party that morning, but as an extra motivation, if I pace myself slowly enough, they’ll still be able to cheer me across the finish line!

On a more serious note though, whilst not affected by diabetes myself, one in 15 people in the UK are. This Wellness Walk is being run by Diabetes UK, who are leading the charge in combating this growing health crisis, and your support can make a real difference.

By donating to my page, you’ll help fund vital research and provide support through Diabetes UK's helpline.

Please consider supporting me today, to help a good cause and so that the pain in my legs on the morning after feels just that little bit more worthwhile. Thanks x
