Your Fundraising

Is there a fundraising target?

add remove

There is no formal set target, but as this is a charity challenge, we ask that everyone aims to raise £100, if you are able too. We'll support you with tips and advice and don't forget to join our Facebook Group for fundraising inspiration.

To help you get started with achieving your personal goal, we have shared our top five fundraising tips. As you fundraise, you will unlock exclusive Wellness Month rewards as our way of saying thank you for your hard work and support.

Why do I need to fundraise?

add remove

Now, more than ever, we need your support. The money you raise will help us fight for a world where diabetes can do no harm.

It helps keep our helpline counsellors answering the phone, getting people through the difficult days and supporting them to overcome the challenges diabetes brings.

It will pay for our local support groups, changing lives one cup of tea at a time.

It keeps our campaigns running, to help us fight for better care and a healthier world.

And you’ll be helping us make every day a little less scary for those living with or at risk of diabetes. Because you will be helping to fund new treatments to prevent complications – like sight loss, amputations and stroke – that so many people with diabetes face. It’s only with your support makes this research possible.

Do I receive a fundraising page when I sign up?

Can my business and employees take part in Wellness Month

add remove

Absolutely, everyone within the workplace can take part. You’ll each need to register but you can fundraise as a ‘team’.

How do I claim my reward?

add remove

Once you hit your fundraising milestone target, you will receive an email containing a link to ‘claim’ your reward. Please allow a few hours for the donation to trigger the email. Please also ensure that you check your junk folders for the email too.

You can also visit your rewards page once signed up to see how and what you can claim.

We’re raising money as a team. Can each team member have the reward when we hit the milestone?

Can Wellness Month help manage my diabetes?

add remove

Improving your overall wellbeing can have a significant positive impact on managing diabetes. Diabetes is condition that requires constant self-management to maintain healthy blood sugar levels. Taking steps to enhance your wellbeing can therefore lead to a better quality of life.

Regular Physical Activity:

Exercise can help improve insulin sensitivity and lower blood sugar levels. Engaging in regular physical activity can also help with weight management and lower your risk of diabetes complications. Talk to your healthcare team before starting a new exercise routine, especially if you have any underlying health conditions.

Positive Mindset:

Creating a positive attitude and setting realistic goals can boost your motivation to manage diabetes effectively. Celebrate your achievements, no matter how small, and stay focused on your long-term wellbeing.

Lifestyle Changes:

Implementing healthy habits into your daily routine can lead to lasting improvements in diabetes management. Gradual, sustainable changes are more likely to have a positive impact on your wellbeing and blood sugar levels.

Remember that everyone’s diabetes management needs are unique. It’s important to work closely with your healthcare team to develop a personalised plan that addresses your specific condition, preferences, and goals. By focusing on improving your overall wellbeing, you can positively influence your diabetes management and lead a healthier, and happier life. We’d recommend visiting our Learning Zone if you have further questions around how to manage your diabetes.
