About your Wellness Walk
Starting from Castlefield Bowl, you’ll begin your walk by the calm waters of the canal before heading past Castlefield Roman Fort. You’ll take in some of Manchester’s most iconic sights including the Canal Street, Manchester Cathedral, The Midland Hotel and Albert Square. You’ll cross the finish line back at Castlefield Bowl and will receive your well-deserved medal at our Finisher’s Area.

What walkers receive
A welcome pack with t-shirts for adults and over 12s, walker numbers and walking guide.
On event day all walkers will receive a beautiful wooden medal as they cross the finish line.
Spend some time in our Finisher’s Area where you can pose for a photo on our podium, get a relaxing massage, write on our gratitude board or speak to a specialist diabetes dietitian.

Fundraising target
Paying your registration fee helps us cover some of the cost of putting on your Wellness Walk, but it’s your fundraising which really makes a difference. We ask you to raise a minimum of £150 to support those with diabetes to live better for longer

Further travel information
We want to make sure our events are as environmentally friendly as possible, so we encourage you to use public transport if you can.
By public transport
Wellness Walk Glasgow is located conveniently close to Kelvinhall and Kelvinbridge Subway stations. Main line train stations at Exhibition Centre and Charing Cross are both about 15-minute walk to the Park. Take the number 2 or 3 bus from Glasgow City Centre which will take approx 15 minutes.
By road
Please use public car parks near to Kelvingrove. These include:
Kelvingrove Art Gallery and
Museum Car Park G3 8AG
Bunhouse Car Park, G3 8DP
Charing Cross multi-storey G2 4PR.
Further facilities information
- Toilets are available at your start and finish location at Kelvingrove Park
- Water refills available at the start and finish. Please carry at least two bottles of water with you to stay hydrated, Including a doggy water bowl. Please carry at least two bottles of water with you to stay hydrated
- Medical assistance and Hypo snacks available from marshals for those that require it along the route.
Further accessibility information
The route is on tarmac or concrete paths and pavements, making the route wheelchair accessible. There are numerous roads to cross, please follow all guidance from our marshals to make sure the route is safe for everyone.
