My Story

Welcome to my Diabetes UK Wellness Walk fundraising page! ❤️

This September, I’m walking for Diabetes UK to support the 5.8 million people in the UK living with diabetes.

This cause is very close to my heart. My family has a history of type 1 diabetes — I have two uncles and a cousin living with type 1, and I sadly lost one of my uncles to complications from the condition.

My other uncle, now 79, has lived with type 1 diabetes for most of his life and is still competing in — and winning — sports competitions alongside his 23-year-old granddaughter, who also lives with type 1. 🏆

Their strength and determination inspire me, and I’m walking in memory of my uncle and for everyone living with diabetes today.

Someone is diagnosed with diabetes every two minutes.

Diabetes UK funds vital research, provides support and works towards a future where diabetes can do no harm.
