My Story

Welcome to my Diabetes UK Wellness Walk fundraising page!

One month ago, my world completely changed after being diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Learning to navigate blood sugar checks, counting carbs and managing injecting insulin has been a steep learning curve and intense adjustment. Instead of letting this condition define me in a negative way, I want to take control and start making a difference from the very start.

To mark my first month of living with this chronic condition, i am walking 10 miles to raise funds for Diabetes UK. Although this may be physically challenging for me while I still adjust to insulin dosage and eating right, I want to prove to myself and others living with the same diagnosis that anything is still possible.
