My Story
Welcome to my Diabetes UK Wellness Walk fundraising page! 💙
This is my 4th time participating in the Diabetes UK Wellness Walk in the past 7 years, and my 2nd time walking the London Bridges route, which I absolutely loved last time, especially because my 3 children joined me. ❤️
Why am I passionate about walking for Diabetes UK?
1. My family's connection to diabetes 💙
Many adults in my maternal family, including my mum, have been living with Type 2 diabetes for many years. I understand the difficulties and complications diabetes can bring to people's lives, and I would love to contribute to Diabetes UK's vital research through my fundraising.
With diabetes affecting several members of my family, it also reminds me that my children and I may be at increased risk. This makes supporting awareness, prevention and research even more meaningful to me.
2. Staying healthy during my birthday month 🎂
September is my birthday month, and coincidentally, the Diabetes UK Wellness Walks are usually held around this time. This gives me extra motivation to stay active, look after my health and keep moving as I celebrate another year of life! 😊
🚶♀️ My 10-mile challenge
This September, I am walking 10 miles for Diabetes UK to support the millions of people across the UK living with diabetes every day.
Diabetes UK is working towards a world where diabetes can do no harm by funding vital research into life-changing treatments and providing support to help people live well with diabetes.
But they need our help. 💙
Every donation, no matter how big or small, can make a difference.
Your support would mean so much to me and would certainly add fuel to my motivation to complete this challenge!
Thank you so much for your kindness, generosity and support. 🙏🏽❤️
