Wellness Walk Glasgow 2025

I’m taking on a Wellness Walk for a happier, healthier future for all.

One in 15 of us is now living with diabetes and Diabetes UK is the charity leading the fight against the UK's devastating and fastest-growing health crisis.

By donating to my page, Diabetes UK could fund more research or provide much needed support via their helpline. Together, we can walk towards a world where diabetes can do no harm.

Please support me today.

Diabetes & Me

Friday 15th Aug
Year 2! Of the Diabetes UK wellness walk.
This last year my treatment plan for my diabetes has been overhauled! So it makes more sense than ever for me to fundraise!

I was diagnosed in 2018 as a type 2 diabetic, I’ve been on tablet medication since diagnosis, March 2020 I started an NHS funded weightloss program, which didn’t go well due to COVID-19 hitting right at the start of my plan, so it didn’t work for me at all! And then in 2021 was then given Ozempic injection medication alongside my tablets. I’ve never been the best at taking my tablet medication, mostly due to at the time undiagnosed ADHD, now that I’ve had this diagnosed and medicated I find it much much easier to manage my diabetes.

Skip to March 2025, and my hba1c was not coming down considering being on full tablet and injections, I was referred to a different diabetic nurse specialist who decided that the next steps for me would be to begin Insulin. So as of May 2025 I’ve been on the route to figuring out my insulin doses, 1 x long acting injection and 3 x fast acting insulin doses a day, alongside my slow release metformin.

It’s a wild road of emotions and needles, and it’s vital that Diabetes UK get donations to help research treatments more and have the funds to offer support to those dealing with diabetes or supporting someone with diabetes!

Any donations would be greatly appreciated!
