My Story

Welcome to my Diabetes UK Wellness Walk fundraising page!

My nephew, Harry, was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at age 6. As you can imagine it came as quite a shock. What continues to amaze me is how much he took it all in his stride, and despite the challenges that come with managing Type 1 Diabetes, he has always faced everything with such incredible courage and resilience.

He’s just turned 10 and so that’s why I am taking on the 10-mile Wellness Walk for Diabetes UK this September to support the 5.8 million people in the UK who live with diabetes, day in day out.

Did you know someone is diagnosed with diabetes every two minutes?

Diabetes UK are on a mission to create a world where diabetes can do no harm by funding vital research into life-changing treatments and providing support to help people to live well with diabetes. But they need our help. No matter how much you can give, it will make a difference.

Every mile I walk will be for Harry and all the children and adults like him living with Type 1 Diabetes.
