Wellness Walk London Bridges

My Story

A month ago, I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and through lifestyle changes, I am fighting back.  Diabetes UK is a great charity doing wonderful work together with the NHS and I want to do what I can to support them.  Thanks for being part of this.

Welcome to my Diabetes UK Wellness Walk fundraising page!

I’m walking for Diabetes UK this September to support the 5.8 million people in the UK who live with diabetes, day in day out. And you can too, just by making a donation.

Did you know someone is diagnosed with diabetes every two minutes?

Diabetes UK are on a mission to create a world where diabetes can do no harm by funding vital research into life-changing treatments and providing support to help people to live well with diabetes. But they need our help. No matter how much you can give, it will make a difference.

So please donate today.

10 miles? What was I thinking?

Sunday 6th Sep
That's like 16 km.  Three to four hours of walking.  Yikes.  So I've decided to attempt three such walks in the remaining weeks before this event.  Tomorrow is the first -- I'm aiming to walk up to High Barnet, and then maybe over to Cockfosters followed by brunch.  The most ambitious plan -- 10 full miles -- would be to walk all the way to Potters Bar.  Wish me luck.
