Welcome to my Diabetes UK Wellness Walk fundraising page!

I’m walking for Diabetes UK this September to support the 5.8 million people in the UK who live with diabetes, day in day out. And you can too, just by making a donation.

Diabetes UK are on a mission to create a world where diabetes can do no harm by funding vital research into life-changing treatments and providing support to help people to live well with diabetes. But they need our help. No matter how much you can give, it will make a difference.

Wellness Walk Completed

Wednesday 23rd Sep

Thank you to all who supported this walk. Together with my friend Sylvie who joined me at Putney Bridge, I managed to completed the walk as planned on Tuesday 22nd Septempter. The walk had to be split over two days as I realised I had been over ambitious thinking I could do 10 miles. On Sunday, I walked unaccompanied from my home to Chiswick bridge and then along the river to Putney Bridge, there I had to stop due to a severe back pain and blisters on my feet. I rested on Monday and Tuesday went by bus to Putney Bridge to resume the walk in the company of Sylvie. We walked from Putney Bridge to Westminster Bridge. I have documented the walk with pictures of the name plaques of each Bridge with the Diabetes UK hat. I am happy to say that we raised £399 for Diabetes UK.
