My Story

It's difficult to make many early plans these days so I'm a little late to the party but hopefully I'll make it now!

Welcome to my Diabetes UK Wellness Walk fundraising page!

I’m aiming to walk 10 miles for Diabetes UK on 27th September, in memory of two very special family members (some of our back story is available at: www.justgiving.com/page/jac-3 ), and to support the 5.8 million people in the UK who live with diabetes, day in day out. You can support them too, just by making a donation.

Diabetes UK are on a mission to create a world where diabetes can do no harm by funding vital research into life-changing treatments and providing support to help people to live well with diabetes. But they need our help. No matter how much you can give, it will make a difference.

I really appreciate that everything is so expensive at the moment and not everyone has spare funds to donate, but if you do please consider it. Every penny helps. Thank you!

Wednesday 23rd Sep

Thanks to engineering works there are no trains on the line I wanted for Sunday! So what would have been a one train journey with a walk to/from the station is now a 4 train journey with walks either end. Obviously this means an earlier start as I can't afford to miss my allocated slot, so not quite as relaxing a start as I would have liked. Having checked the mileage to/from the stations and start/end locations this has turned into an over 13 mile day! I'm sure it will be worth it ....although my knees may still disagree :) Thank you all for your support!
