2025 London Diabetes Wellness Walk
This year Charlotte and I are partaking in the London Diabetes Wellness Walk, a 10-mile walk as part of a fundraising event to raise money for Diabetes UK. All money donated goes towards funding more research or providing much needed support via their helpline.
I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at 9 years of age, so I personally have a close association to this cause.
Type 1 Diabetes is a very difficult condition to live with as no two-days are the same and it requires constant management (and I say that lightly!). There is a never-ending list of factors that can affect your glucose levels (e.g.the amount you sleep you get, stress, illness, exercise, the temperature etc.), and people living with Type 1 Diabetes are constantly having to make decisions and calculations in their head just to ensure they stay within a target range.
Advancements in technology however have made living with this condition much easier and fortunately it's only going to keep getting better through further research. I'm very grateful for the technology that I have only recently started using as it has made a world of difference to my control, and I hope others living with this condition can experience the same.

Any contribution to this cause is greatly appreciated.
