My Story
I’m taking on the Diabetes UK London Bridges Wellness Walk 2026 — walking 10 miles across central London.
For some people, 10 miles may sound manageable. For me, this challenge is deeply personal.
Last year, I completed a 5-mile walk and my legs hurt for days afterwards. I realised very quickly that while my mind was ready for challenges, my body still had catching up to do. Since then, I’ve been working on improving my health, fitness, stamina and long-term wellbeing — not through perfection, but through consistency, resilience and refusing to give up on myself.
This walk represents far more than just crossing London bridges.
It represents:
- choosing my health
- building strength step by step
- proving to myself that progress is possible
- supporting people affected by diabetes
- and turning intention into action
Over the next few months, I’ll be training properly to prepare for the challenge — treadmill sessions, walking training, swimming, gym work and rebuilding my endurance gradually and safely.
On Sunday 27th September 2026, I’ll be walking from Battersea through central London to help raise money for Diabetes UK and support the incredible work they do for people living with diabetes every single day.
If you’re able to donate — no matter how small — I’d be incredibly grateful.
And if you can’t donate, encouragement and support mean just as much.
Every mile will be earned.
Every bridge crossed will mean something.
Thank you for supporting me.
