Wellness Walk London Bridges

My Story

Welcome to my Diabetes UK Wellness Walk fundraising page!

I’m walking for Diabetes UK this September to support the 5.8 million people in the UK who live with diabetes, day in day out.

Living with Type 1 diabetes means making an extra 180–300 decisions every single day. Every meal, every walk, every workout, every sleepless night, every illness, every celebration—it all comes with extra thought and planning.

I’ve been living with diabetes for 24 years, and throughout that time, Diabetes UK has been there, funding research, providing trusted advice, and advocating for people like me.

One of the biggest changes I’ve seen over the years has been the incredible progress in diabetes technology. From finger-prick tests and multiple daily injections to continuous glucose monitors and smarter insulin delivery systems, these advances have made living with diabetes safer, more manageable, and have taken away some of the constant mental burden that comes with the condition.

But there’s still so much more to do. Every breakthrough brings us one step closer to making life easier for everyone living with diabetes—and ultimately, to finding a cure.

That’s why I’m fundraising for Diabetes UK. Every donation helps support life-changing research, improve access to vital technology, and ensure people living with diabetes have the support they need.

If you’re able to donate, no matter how big or small, I’d be incredibly grateful. Thank you for helping make a difference. 💙

10 Miles of Motivation

Sunday 23rd Aug

Today was a big step towards my upcoming Diabetes Wellness Walk. Simon and I headed out for a practice walk, covering 10 miles from Wittenham Clumps to Clifton Hampden Lock and back.

It was the perfect opportunity to put some miles in our legs, test ourselves, and enjoy the beautiful countryside along the way.

The walk was also a reminder of why the Diabetes Wellness Walk is so important to me. It’s not just about the distance—it’s about raising awareness, encouraging healthier lifestyles, and showing what can be achieved one step at a time.

A huge thank you to Simon for joining me and to everyone that has donated! 👟💙
