Wellness Walk London Bridges

My Story

Welcome to my Diabetes UK Wellness Walk fundraising page!

I’m walking for Diabetes UK this September to support the 5.8 million people in the UK who live with diabetes, day in day out.

Type 1 diabetes has been part of both of our lives from a very young age. Ellen was diagnosed when she was just 3 years old and Emily was diagnosed at the age of 9.

Living with Type 1 diabetes isn’t something we can ever take a break from it’s a 24/7 condition that affects us every single day. No day is ever the same and we’ve both faced the challenges that come with growing up and now living as adults with diabetes. From constant blood sugar monitoring and insulin injections to the emotional and physical ups and downs that many people never see.

One of the greatest positives to come from our journey has been finding each other. Becoming friends has made life so much easier, knowing we have someone who truly understands what it’s like to live with Type 1 diabetes. We support each other through the difficult days and celebrate the good ones together.

We’re taking part in the Diabetes UK Walk to help raise money for research that could change lives. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help fund the development of new treatments and technologies that make living with Type 1 diabetes safer, easier and bring us closer to a future without it.

Thank you so much for your kindness, support, and generosity, it truly means the world to us.
