My Story
Welcome to my Diabetes UK Wellness Walk fundraising page!
We’re walking for Diabetes UK this September to support the 5.8 million people in the UK who live with diabetes, day in day out. And you can too, just by making a donation.
Kal’s story - I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes 13 years ago, and diabetes has also affected several members of my family. Living with this condition has shown me that diabetes is far more than just checking blood sugar or taking insulin—it’s a constant balancing act that requires decisions and adjustments every single day.
I’m not looking for sympathy as this is now something that is a part of me but I don’t require help, just understanding. I’m taking part to help raise awareness of a condition that affects millions of people and can be incredibly challenging to manage, even when everything is done “right.”
By supporting my challenge, you’re helping Diabetes UK continue its vital work in funding research, improving care, and supporting people living with diabetes.
My greatest hope is that, in my lifetime, a cure for Type 1 diabetes will be found. Until then, I’ll keep doing what I can to raise awareness and support the incredible work being done to make that hope a reality.
Thank you so much for your support—it really does make a difference.
So please donate today.

Good luck
