Wellness Walk London Bridges

My Story

Welcome to my Diabetes UK Wellness Walk fundraising page!

I’m walking for Diabetes UK this September to support the 5.8 million people in the UK who live with diabetes, day in day out. And you can too, just by making a donation.

Did you know someone is diagnosed with diabetes every two minutes?

Diabetes UK are on a mission to create a world where diabetes can do no harm by funding vital research into life-changing treatments and providing support to help people to live well with diabetes. But they need our help. No matter how much you can give, it will make a difference.

So please donate today.

Walking 10 Miles in Memory of Dad and Grandad ❤️

Monday 7th Sep
On 27th September, Sophie and I will be taking on the 10-mile Diabetes UK London Bridge Wellness Walk in memory of my dad, Steve — Sophie’s grandad.

Dad lived with diabetes, so Diabetes UK is a charity that means a huge amount to our family. This walk gives us the chance to do something together to remember him, honour his life and raise money to help others living with diabetes.

For me, walking those 10 miles will be a very personal journey. For Sophie, it will be about remembering her grandad and being part of something that keeps his memory alive. We'll be walking side by side, carrying our own memories of him with us every step of the way.

I'm sure 10 miles will test us — there will probably be tired feet, aching legs and at least a few moments where we question why we thought this was a good idea! 😂 But knowing we're doing it for Dad will give us the motivation to keep putting one foot in front of the other.

Diabetes affects millions of people and their families, and we're proud to be doing our little bit to support Diabetes UK in raising awareness, supporting those living with diabetes and funding research for the future.

Every donation, however big or small, will mean so much to us. It will help us reach our fundraising goal and make all those miles feel even more worthwhile.

So on 27th September, Sophie and I will be walking 10 miles together — for Dad, for Grandad, and for everyone whose lives have been affected by diabetes.

We'll carry his memory with us every step of the way. ❤️

Thank you so much for supporting us, donating if you can, and helping us make this challenge in Steve's memory count. xx
