My Story
Hi folks I’m walking for Diabetes UK this September to support the 5.8 million people in the UK who live with diabetes, day in day out.
As I'm sure most of you know I've been Type 1 for over 48 years. It's a hidden condition that can be incredibly challenging at times both physically and mentally and truly is 24/7. My motto has always been that "it needs to live with me" and it has so far. In many ways too it has pushed me on to do things that I may not have done otherwise. So not all bad!!
It's the first time I've raised money for Diabetes UK and I have found great value in their work and the resources along with the medical advances that they support. It truly is life changing!
Diabetes UK are on a mission to create a world where diabetes can do no harm by funding vital research into life-changing treatments and providing support to help people to live well with diabetes. But they need our help. No matter how much you can give, it will make a difference.
So if you can help with a donation I would be very grateful. It's a 10 mile walk and whilst I am very tempted to smash it in 2.5 hours I'll instead enjoy the pleasure of the stroll through London with my lovely team mates.
