My Story

Welcome to my Diabetes UK Wellness Walk fundraising page!

I’m walking for Diabetes UK this September to support the 5.8 million people in the UK who live with diabetes, day in day out. I am also walking to remember my Dad David who had Type 1 Diabetes from the age of 24 and my daughter Phoebe who became Type 1 Diabetic when she was only 7 years old and is doing a fantastic job of managing her life as an active wife, mother and all round super human. As parents, we had an amazing network of support which was funded by Diabetes UK and Phoebe got to go on activity weekends with other kids who were all on the same journey. This walk is a great way to pay this back....

I’m doing this for Dad & Phoebe

I’m doing this walk to remember my Dad who passed away in 2004 and my daughter who was 7 when she contracted the disease. Both Type 1 and both have hugely benefitted from the research and the support provided by the fabulous charity.
