The story of my hero!

Welcome to my Diabetes UK Wellness Walk fundraising page!

My son Edward was diagnosed with Type 1 back in 2018 and what a turbulent few days that was! The support from the staff at our local hospital was and continues to be amazing!

From what was this tiny frail sickly boy has grown a big lumbering, Loving, Smart, Compassionate, Caring, Hilarious and downright decent human being and that wouldn’t of been possible without the medical research and advances in diabetic treatment! Yes we have wobbles and days when it gets the better of him as no two days are the same with diabetes but he faces it each day, His feet hit the floor and he is ready for whatever his body throws at him!

Without the treatment and research I wouldn’t have the joy of watching him grow! Without the treatment and research I wouldn’t have a hero, A hero who I am proud every day to call my son!
