Wellness Walk London Bridges

My Story

Welcome to my Diabetes UK Wellness Walk fundraising page!

My mum is type 1 and growing up I didn’t know how much was involved. We just gave her glucose sometimes  if she was a bit too low, but a few years ago she had a stroke. Suddenly we had to learn quickly, count carbs, used maths calculations, learn how to inject, libres pinging notifications all day and night and a family chat group to help each other.

At the same time a young adult with diabetes came to join our family and she set up this walk. We walk to support her and her determination to live life to fullest and to thank her for how much she brings to the family.

I am also walking for Diabetes UK this September to support the 5.8 million people in the UK who live with diabetes, day in day out. And you can too, just by making a donation.

Did you know someone is diagnosed with diabetes every two minutes?

Diabetes UK are on a mission to create a world where diabetes can do no harm by funding vital research into life-changing treatments and providing support to help people to live well with diabetes. But they need our help. No matter how much you can give, it will make a difference.

So please donate today.
