💙 Why I’m walking 💙
This September, my colleague and I are taking on the 5-mile Diabetes UK Wellness Walk as The Dia-Buddies! 👟💙
We both live with Type 1 diabetes, so this is a cause that is incredibly close to both of our hearts. Diabetes is something we manage every single day, and there is so much that goes on behind the scenes that people don’t always see – the constant checking, counting, planning and making decisions, while still getting on with everyday life.
Taking on these 5 miles together gives us the opportunity to turn something we both live with into something positive, while raising money and awareness for a cause that means so much to us.
For me, there’s also an even more personal reason behind every step I take.
I’ll be walking in memory of my beautiful twin boys, Theo and Noah. 🩵🩵
My experiences of pregnancy and baby loss have made me even more passionate about the importance of research, healthcare and support. Living with diabetes can add additional challenges to pregnancy, and I want to help support a future where women with diabetes have access to the very best care, information and support before, during and after pregnancy.
So I’ll be walking for myself, my boys, my fellow Dia-Buddy, and everyone else whose life is affected by diabetes. 💙
Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help Diabetes UK continue its vital work supporting people living with diabetes and funding research for a better future.
If you’re able to donate, we’d be incredibly grateful. And if you can’t donate, simply sharing our page would mean so much too.
5 miles. 2 Type 1 Dia-Buddies. My 2 very special little boys. One cause incredibly close to our hearts. 💙👟🩵🩵
